R. As the Lord entered the holy city, the children of the Hebrews proclaimed the resurrection of life. Waving their branches of palm, they cried: Hosanna in the highest.

The Antiphons found in the Roman Missal are meant to be pronounced when there is no singing. The rubrics for the Preparation of the Gifts are clear. If there is no singing , the antiphon is omitted with the Preparation of the Gifts is pronounced aloud with the Congregation responding: Blessed be God for ever when appropriate.
